About me

Chiara Reale, official Florence guide, by the Ponte Vecchio

I’m Chiara Reale, an official tourist guide for Florence and Tuscany, specialised in art and culture.

I was born in Sicily, but I’ve lived in Florence since I was fifteen: I know it the way you know the city you grew up in, with its streets, its stories and its secrets. I also lived and worked in Spain, guiding travellers around Catalonia.

My background

Two university degrees, the official tourist guide licence and specific training as a natural park guide in Catalonia. I keep studying, because telling the story of a city like Florence well means never stopping.

My way of guiding

Since 2021 I’ve led more than 1,400 tours in Florence. My goal is simple: that you understand the city, not just see it. The rigour of an official guide, but no filters: the Medici with their lights and shadows, the artists’ stories, and the practical side too, like where to eat well without falling into tourist traps.
